VENICE

JULY 2023
SPRITZ ME TO VENICE WITH APEROL

BACARO

Pasta and cicchetto, cicchetto, cicchetto.
These people can EAT. More aptly they can FEED. I’ve never been so full in my life as my time spent on this trip. I’ve never been so annoyed that I couldn’t eat more. More pasta, more cicchetto. Rent me a second stomach.
I digress.
Being too full can hardly distract from the distressed beauty of Venice. Every cliche you’ve ever heard about the city is true. It DOES look like it’s straight out of a fairytale. You CANNOT imagine that there’s anywhere else in the world like it. Acting cool and not having your head completely, romantically turned by the sight of oily blue water lapping beneath intricate stone doorways should be an official offence.
Is there no place on Earth better known for walking and water? No roads, only canals.
A day of eating and drinking and walking and boating. An all-senses reinforcement of the light and loves of this city.
Bacaro tour [guided city walk with lots of Aperol Spritz and cicchetto] and a canal cruise [more Aperol Spritz and more cicchetto].

BRAGOZZO

Cicchetto, mussels, pasta, fritto misto with seasonal Venetian moeche.
There’s a very specific way in which sunlight dances on open water. In the European afternoon it’s lazy and inviting, silver and slow. Cool to match the water and at odds with the warmth of the sun. Watching it do its thing aboard a boat, belly full and Spritz in hand, cruising around Venice in perfect Summer weather is a violent reminder that those of us experiencing industry perks like this are insanely fortunate.
Swimming and a multi-course, Captain-cooked lunch, cruising through Venice Lagoon, with Aperol and the Bragozzo Rosa dei Venti teams.

with thanks to Aperol
